LOCAL OBITUARY | Corbin Austin Noblitt, age 26, of New Herman, passed away suddenly and tragically in the early hours of February 1, 2026 in a fire at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 1 p.m. at Lynchburg Funeral Home. Friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service to offer condolences and remember Corbin.
Corbin was born in Winchester on February 22, 1999, to Edward Todd Noblitt and Danielle Elizabeth Faulk. According to his obituary, he grew up a country boy on Noblitt Farm. Despite any obstacles he faced, including losing his hearing in 2007, he never let anything hold him back, family stated. He was a Moore County Raider from elementary school until he graduated from Moore County High School in 2017. From then on, he worked as a farmhand and was great help to any and every one that needed it.
“He was a great man and never met a stranger. He was loved by many and will be missed by all,” his obituary states.
At a young age, Corbin lost his hearing, but he never allowed that to define him. Through determination and strength, he continued to pursue his passion for football. With the help of a specialized helmet designed to accommodate his cochlear implant, he was able to stay on the field and play the game he loved. His resilience inspired many, and his courage will forever be part of his legacy.
Corbin is preceded in death by his grandmother, Laura Beswetherick.
He is survived by both parents Todd Noblitt and Danielle Faulk, grandmother, Terry Ann Corbin and grandfather, Bob Noblitt, as well as uncles, Scott and Victor Noblitt, aunt, Sarah Noblitt, brothers, Cody Noblitt, Lewis Faulk, Coleman Faulk, and sisters, Nichole Carlton and Chasity Noblitt, nieces and nephews Kehlani Bankston, Ryleigh Locke, Parker, Miles, Skylar, and Stormi Noblitt, Arya, Abbi, and Jaxxon Carlton and many more cousins and family.
His Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, February 21 — one day before what would have been his 27th birthday — at Lynchburg Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, friends have set up a Go Fund Me account to assist the family with funeral expenses. If you’d like to donate to it, you can click here. A memorial account has also been set up for the Noblitt family at the Jack Daniel Credit Union. Any funds raised beyond the cost of the funeral will be donated in his honor to help provide specialized sports equipment for children who face physical challenges — so they, too, can experience the joy of playing the sports they love, just as he did, the Go Fund Me page stated. •
