LOCAL NEWS — As the school year winds down, local parents now turn their attention toward summer camps and other ways to keep their young children occupied from June until August.
Last Friday, the Moore County UT Extension office announced a free day camp happing in Moore County for students in grades 1-3. Farmer for a Day Camp will take place on June 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Wiseman Park.
Local kids will “learn by doing” activities that many Moore County farmers do each and every day like baling round hay bales, keeping bees, and harvesting grains.
Farm Bureau Insurance, the USDA, and the Moore County UT Extension office sponsor the local camp.
The event is free to attend but spaces are limited. The deadline to reserve your child’s spot will be on Friday, May 28. For more information, call the local UT Extension office at 931-759-7163 with questions or to RSVP. •
