EVENTS | Pelham — Jack White of the White Stripes had The Raconteurs and then The Dead Weather. Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty played together in the Traveling Wilburys. Famous musician’s side projects have long been a fan favorite because they allow musicians to stretch outside their comfort zone and try our new genres and recording methods.

One such project is Gov’t Mule formed by The Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes and bassist Allen Woody. Woody died in 2000 but Haynes along with Matt Abt, Danny Louis, and Jorgen Carlson continue to tour the festival circuit and sold out crowds across the U.S. On Thursday, October 3 they’ll play here in southern, middle Tennessee at The Caverns.

This will be the southern rock jam band’s debut performance at The Caverns, a unique subterranean venue located at the foot of Monteagle Mountain in Pelham. They’ve been known to bring surprise guests onto stage like members of the Black Crows or Widespread Panic. Being this close to Nashville, there’s no telling who might visit for the Oct. 3 performance.

A limited amount of tickets for the show remain, so it’s probably best not to wait until the night of the show to get yours. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and general admission tickets are $75.
