
THURS – SUN • Mule Day in Columbia
It started as a simple show for the Maury County Bridle & Saddle Club in the 1960’s and has evolved into a week-long event that brings over 200,000 people into downtown Columbia, the Mule Capital of the world. Mule Days will kick off on Thursday and will extend through Sunday of this week and you’ll find just a little bit of everything. There will be a crafts fair, a Bluegrass Music Fest, an auctioneers contest, cart barrel races, a Liar’s Contest, and, of course, a mule show. For a full calendar of events, click here.
FRI. & SAT • Spring Crafts Show in Cowan
Nestled in the foothills of Sewanee Mountain, the tiny town of Cowan is filled with artisans and crafters. On Friday and Saturday historic Monterey Station will be filled with them. There will also be an Easter Bunny appearance and free Kids Craft Corner. For more info, click here.
FRIDAY • The Hunchback of Notre Dame in Tullahoma
They call it the “Mini Ryman” and for good reason. If you want to enjoy theatre, live music, or comedy in southern, middle Tennessee then you’ll likely be headed to the South Jackson Performing Arts Center in Tullahoma. The Hunchback of Notre Dame will open on Friday and it looks to be a don’t-miss performance. The show’s loosely based on the Victor Hugo novel and follows the story of a the deformed bell-ringer Quasimodo, the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda, and the vengeful Frollo. For more info, click here.
SATURDAY • Tennessee Tulip Festival in Eagleville
Spring is in the air and there’s no better way to celebrate than the Tennessee Tulip Festival at Lucky Ladd Farms in nearby Eagleville. They are the largest you-pick-them tulip farms in the southeast. Not only will it make a photographer’s dream of a backdrop, but you can also experience a one-of-a-kind makers market filled with handmade art, jewelry, home décor, candles, apparel, textiles, and so much more. SATURDAY • Piping on the Green in Tullahoma
Every April the lawn at The South Jackson Performing Arts Center in Tullahoma transforms into a celebration of all things Scottish with the Piping on the Green Celebration. It’s a Celtic music and arts festival that offers everything from a hands-on bodhrán workshop to live music by a folk-rock band and bagpipers as well as an opportunity to meet adorable Highland cows.
