Huntland Lady Hornets sting Raiderettes 16-3 on Monday

LOCAL SPORTS | Lynchburg — It felt like a long day on the diamond for the Moore County Raiderettes on Monday as the visiting Huntland Lady Hornets managed a blow out 16-3 district win.

Moore County managed to tie the game in the first inning when Madelynn McLaughlin drove in one run on a single. It was as close as the Raiderettes would ever get. Huntland scored 11 runs in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach. On the mound, Paisley Logan got the start for Moore County. She pitched three and two thirds innings — allowing 10 hits and 12 runs while striking out one. Abby Neal relief pitched one and one third innings.

One bright spot for Moore County was a Chloe Brazier home run in the fourth inning. Brazier led for the Raiderettes on Monday with two hits in two at bats. Moore County plays in Lincoln County (20-7) on Thursday in a non-district match up . Tickets are available on the Go Fan app. •
