JD BBQ Like a Local: Reserve parking at the library

Each October, the tiny town of Lynchburg swells by a few thousand folks as the Jack Daniel World Championship Invitational Barbecue returns to Wiseman Park. That crowd usually includes over 60 American barbecue teams, over 20 international teams, and 25,000 fans … not to mention the scores of locals who also happen to enjoy the events. This mean parking can be a little hard to come by.

Conveniently located just above the Lynchburg Square at the intersection of Majors Boulevard and Mechanic Street, the Moore County Public Library offers reserved parking spots each year for a donation. Spots will be available beginning on Friday, October 25 through Saturday, October 26.

It’s there biggest fundraiser of the year, so why not remove the stress of finding parking and support a worthy cause all at once. To reserve your spot, contact the Moore County Public Library at 931-759-7285. and hurry because spots are limited. •
