LYNCHBURG — They’ve been killing in all year with a schedule loaded full of fun, themed events but all good things must come to an end. The Lynchburg Pool will switch to back-to-school hours this week, according to Pool Manager Cierra Trussell.
Beginning on Monday, August 5, the Pool will be closed during the week. They will remain open on Saturdays with extended hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Lynchburg Pool will close for the season on Saturday, August 31.
“Our lifeguards are all very active in sports and extracurricular activities and will be unable to facilitate after school pool hours,” Trussell said.
Under the new leadership of Trussell, the Pool introduced tons of new special events during the 2024 season including a Let’s Glow Pool Party on July 13, a Bubble DJ Night on July 16, a Cardboard Boat Regatta on July 20, and a Splash-a-Ganza Fundraiser on July 27
Trussel says she plays to use the funds raised in the 2024 season to help fund pool upgrades like a new chemistry and filtration system, splash pad area, and other renovations and upgrades like cabanas, exterior paint, exterior concessions stand, kitchen update, remodelled shower rooms, and concrete refinishing.
“By next year, it should look like a whole new facility,” Trussell told The Times.
