MANCHESTER — The Moore County Middle School Raiders 2021 regular season is winding down, but they added one more to the W column on Monday with a 12-7 victory over Westwood Middle School improving their record to 11-1. The middle school Raiders only loss of the season happened on the first game of the season with a 10-0 beat down against Forrest. Since then, they’ve been perfect.
On Monday, Moore County jumped out to a three-run lead over the Rockets in the first inning. Bryson Carter got on the scoreboard first when he doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs. In the third, the Raiders managed another big inning with Brantley Hill, Logan Cashion, and Aiden Webster all managing RBIs.
Webster got the start for Moore County managing just three hits over three innings. Colton Maury and Peyton Martin came into to relieve. Martin got the win allowing just one hit over two innings. Carter led for Moore County going 3-for-3 at the plate.
The MCMS Raiders will play their final regular season game in Lynchburg Tuesday afternoon. Game time is at 5:30 p.m. and tickets are available in the Go Fan app. •
