Moore students encourage to apply for Middle TN scholarship

REGIONAL NEWS | Education — Moore County high school students as well as those with a GED and currently attending a four year public or private college are encouraged to apply for a Scarlett Family Foundation scholarship. Established in 2005 by Joe and Dorothy Scarlett, the foundation awards scholarship to 139 high schools across 36 Middle Tennessee counties.

To qualify, students must pursue or a business or STEM degree at a four-year, non-profit college or university, have an existing GPA of 2.5 or higher, plan to enroll full time next fall, and demonstrate financial need. Applications must be submitted before December 15.

The Scarletts have called Middle Tennessee home for over 40 years. Joe is the former Chairman and CEO of Tractor Supply Company. Since its inception, the foundation has funded $11.2 million in academic scholarships and helped more the 550 students from 134 Middle Tennessee high schools.
