LOCAL NEWS — No more waiting … COVID-19 vaccination appointments are now open to all citizens 16 and older in Moore County and the Moore County Health Department extended their hours this week.
The Moore County Health Department offers COVID-19 vaccination by appointment. To book your appointment, visit the state website and click the blue “Proceed to COVID-19 questionnaire” button at the bottom of the page to start your registration. You can also call the local health department at 931-759-4251.
Those locals ages 16 and older who wish to get vaccinated will need to find a does of he Pfizer vaccine as it currently the only COVID-19 vaccine approved for use in individuals 16 and older. You can go to the Vaccine Finder website to located area doses. Individuals under the age of 18 must have parental consent.
Beginning this week, the Moore County Health Department COVID-19 vaccination site at 12 Magnolia Drive will be open extended hours to provide vaccinations: Tuesdays from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Thursdays from 1-6:30 p.m.
“We’re eager to offer these additional opportunities for people to get their COVID-19 vaccinations in a way that works more conveniently with their schedules,” said Moore County Health Director Pam Browning. “The more people in Moore County who choose to get their vaccinations, the sooner our community can return to normal day-to-day activities.”
The Moore County Health Department reminds all Moore County residents that in addition to vaccination, wearing a face mask, maintaining social distance and getting tested when exposed or sick are critical to controlling the pandemic. •
