LOCAL NEWS — The Metro Utilities Department (MUD) reminds customers that their offices will be closed on Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 for Thanksgiving. This means that water customers with a past due bill will need to make a payment no later than 4 p.m. on the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving in order to avoid a water lock off. Lock offs will not take place until after the holiday on Monday, November 30.

MUD officials say that they have made attempts to contact everyone that is currently on the lock off list. Payments can be made via U.S. mail, at the MUD offices, or 24/7 online.

There is a $100 reconnection fee. MUD officials say that if you make your payment in the night drop off box after 4 p.m. on November 25, it should include the additional $100 plus the balance due.
