Raider Hoops kicks off soon; New gym won’t be ready

LOCAL NEWS | Sports — Moore County Hoops season is fast approaching. The first Moore County Middle School game takes place next Monday, November 4 at 6 p.m. against Liberty. The first MCHS varsity games won’t take place until December 6 against Community.

The timeline never anticipated that the new MCHS Gym would be ready for action by the start of basketball season but the good news is that “if everything goes as planned” it should be ready after Christmas break, according to Director of Schools Chad Moorehead.

In the meantime, games will take place in the old gym and fans should enter through the main entrance of the school. Front parking is limited and school officials would like to ask the home crowd to park behind the school to allow the visiting team to park out front.

Anyone with questions, can contact the school at 931-759-4231. •
