LOCAL SPORTS — The Moore County Middle School Raiderettes showed up and showed out in the third inning on Monday in Lynchburg against the Fayetteville City Tigers – scoring 10 runs on their way to a 19-9 victory.
Kenzie Howard started the big inning off when she drew a walk, scoring one run. Whitney Fanning followed suit drawing her own walk and scoring one run. Howard, Addye Norman, and Anna Leigh Ross all singled. Kaitlyn Gattis tripled on her first pitch, scoring two runs.
Ross led for the Raiderettes with four hits in five at bats. On the mound, Kallie Ross snagged the win. She went five innings allowing nine runs on six hits and she struck out seven.
Multiple Moore County player stole bases during the onslaught. Norman led with four stolen bases. •
