MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Moore County Raiderettes were able to repel Central Magnet in Murfreesboro Tuesday night, escaping with a 43-36 victory on a night when no Moore County player scored in double digits.

Bella Tucker got closest to double digits with eight while Ally Sharpe, Emma Dye and Ellie Carter all chipped in seven apiece.

The Raiderettes took control of the game early, going up 14-7 after one. Tucker had her biggest quarter, hitting a field goal and knocking down both ends of a trip to the free throw line. Sharpe, Dye, Carter, Harley Hart and Emmeree Greenway all dropped baskets during the opening stanza.

It was teamwork again in the second as the Raiderettes put up an even dozen while holding their hosts to only four points. Sharpe, Dye, Carter, Hart along with Abbie Bateman and Paisley Kelly all chipped in with baskets to extend the Moore County lead by the half.

The momentum shifted a bit in the second half as Central Magnet outscored the Raiderettes in both the third and fourth quarter to cut into the Moore County lead. Greenway was the only Raiderette with a field goal as she hit a pair of shots from the field. The rest of Moore County’s scoring came from the charity stripe as the squad was a respectable five-for-six from the line in the third. Tucker, Dye and Carter all visited the foul line during the quarter.

The Central Magnet run came up short in the fourth even though the hosts outscored Moore 14-8 as the Raiderettes’ early production was enough to take them home. Carter, Tucker and Sharpe were responsible for the field goals in the quarter, each hitting one apiece while Sharpe and Dye both knocked down singles from the foul line to round out scoring for the game.

Bella Tucker led for Moore County with eight followed closely by Ally Sharpe, Emma Dye, and Ellie Carter with seven points each. Emmeree Greenway added six, Harley Hart swished four, and Abbie Bateman and Paisley Kelly added two each.

Moore County will return to the MCHS Gym on Friday to face off with Richland in a district game. The girls will tip off at 6 p.m. •
