LOCAL SPORTS | Fayetteville — Raider Head Coach Randy Morey said it best Tuesday night. “Baseball is a humbling sports and sometimes you just can not get the hits when needed.”

The MCHS Raiders dropped a close one Tuesday night in Fayetteville. Moore County fell behind early and just could not get their bats to cooperate. Despite multiple hits by Donnie Pearson, Kaden White, and Kyler Parker, the Raiders just couldn’t manage to get runners batted in. The three seniors led for the Raiders with two hits each.

Pitching; however, looked strong on both sides. Jacob Baker took the loss but went six innings allowing only two runs on two hits and striking out eight. The loss moves the Raiders to 5-3 overall record and 3-1 District 8 record. They maintains their top spot in the district rankings which are: Moore County (3-1), Huntland (2-0), Fayetteville (2-2), Eagleville (1-1), Cascade (0-2), and Cornersville (0-2).

They’ll travel this weekend to the Lookout Valley Tournament in Chattanooga. •
