TRACY CITY — Cows are as much a part of the Tennessee landscape as rolling hills and rickhouses. So why would anyone intentionally harm the gentle giants? That’s exactly what Grundy County officials say happened this week in Tracy City.

Earlier Monday morning, a Grundy County farmer discoverd several cows dead in an area hay field apparently from wounds from an arrow. Several animals were killed resulting in thousands of dollars in damages. Nearby, the farmer also discovered broken carbon crossbow arrows. The animals were killed on property located along Johnny Parson’s Road

The livestock owner is offering the $1,000 reward. A private donor added an additional $200 reward and Farm Bureau is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
