LOCAL EVENT NEWS | Tims Ford State Park — As Christmas Day gets closer and closer, personal appearances by The Jolly One himself will get fewer and fewer and Moore County kids will get one last chance to visit Santa and whisper their latest wish list in his ear on Friday, December 10 at the Tims Ford State Park Rec Lodge.
Children can also hear a reading of the Christmas classic, Twas the Night Before Christmas. The poem was first published anonymously in 1823 and later attributed to Clement Clarke Moore. His verses are given much of the credit for our modern day depictions of Santa Claus as a jolly man travelling around the globe via reindeer.
On December 10, local kiddos can meet and greet not only Santa but also Mrs. Claus and a few of Santa’s helpers and get a photo to remember the days by. The event is free to attend and takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. For more information, visit the Tims Ford State Park Facebook Page. •
