EVENTS | Townsend — Lynchburg’s Jack Daniel’s Distillery, Shelbyville’s Uncle Nearest, Normandy’s Cascade Hollow Distillery (formerly George Dickel), Woodbury’s Short Mountain Distillery, Kelso’s Prichard’s Distillery, and Fayetteville’s Southern Pride Distillery will all participate in the Grains and Grits Spirits and Food Festival in Townsend on November 2 from 6-9 p.m. Townsend is located southeast of Knoxville. The annual festival celebrates all things made-in-Tennessee in the genres of southern spirits and gourmet grub. It’s a favorite among not only whiskey lovers but also foodies, bartenders, and spirit professionals.

Southern, middle Tennessee distillers like Jack Daniel’s Jeff Arnett, Cascade Hollow’s Nicole Austin, Short Mountain’s Billy Kaufman, Southern Pride’s Randy Trentham, and Prichard’s own Phil Prichard will all be in attendance. Two breweries, Blount County Home Brewers and Sevier County Home Brewers, as well as Cades Cove Cellars will also attend.

Some of the South’s finest restaurants will also participate including Dancing Bear Appalachian Bistro, Old Mill Pottery House, RT Lodge, Northshore Brasserie, Flat and Taps, Amici-Mayville, Puckett’s, The Walnut Kitchen, Michael Sullivan, and Rickard BBQ. For for info, click here.

Tickets are $65 in advance online and $75 the day of the event. All ticket holders must be 21 or older. The event will be held at the Townsend Visitor’s Center located at 7906 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway. The gates open at 6 p.m. and the event ends at 9 p.m. For ticket information, click here. •
