After losing to Fayetteville in the first round on May 7, the MCHS Raiderettes have battled their way back to the District 8A semifinal game. They play Eagleville this afternoon at 5 p.m. in Bedford County. If they win, they’ll face off with Huntland in the championship game.
This year’s post season play has been a bit of a Groundhog’s Day for the Moore County Raiders. Not only did they face off with Eagleville twice in the regular season but also in three separate games in the District 8A Tournament. And they will head to Eagleville next Tuesday for a Region 5A championship game.
District 8A Baseball Tournament actions starts today. The Raiders will play their first game on Friday at 5 p.m. in Lynchburg.
The varsity Raiders secured their top spot in District 8A play on Monday afternoon with a 3-2 win over the Huntland Hornets. That gives them the right to host the district tournament.
The varsity Raiderettes struggled on Thursday against Eagleville losing 11-0.
The Moore County Raiders held on to beat Eagleville 6-5 on Tuesday to secure first place in District 8A baseball play.
Senior Raider Ryder Morey pitched a shut out on Monday in Lynchburg to help Moore County earn the 2-0 victory over Eagleville.
The MCHS Raiderettes pounced on the Fayetteville City Lady Tigers on Monday walking away with a 10-3 victory.
