MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Moore County boys doubles team of Neal Childress and Logan Trussell fell in the semifinals to a team from Scotts Hill Patrick Lewis and Marcus Bielinski in straight sets (3-6, 5-7) at the Spring Fling at the Adams Tennis Complex.

Neal Childress has been playing for several years but Logan just took up the game this year and after playing baseball seems to be enjoying the sport.

“He used to watch his sister play and he just finally came out and we are happy to have him,” MCHS Raiders Tennis Coach Myers said of Trussell.

“We knew that it would be a battle but (Neal) Childress twisted his ankle so his mobility was lacking, and he didn’t move or run as well but I’m proud of how they played,” Myers said.

In the opening round, they defeated a team from Chattanooga Arts & Sciences Owen Burke and Malhar Rathod (6-3, 6-2)

“Both of them played, communicated and moved really well on the court during their opening round match,” Myers said of the duo. •
