Brown-Forman Leans on Blackberry as Jack Daniel’s Launches Canned Lemonade Cocktail

LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — Jack Daniel’s is putting one of its most popular new flavors into a can. The distillery announced this week that Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry mixed with Lemonade is headed to store shelves nationwide this month, marking the brand’s first ready-to-drink (RTD) version of Lynchburg’s latest fan-favorite cocktail.

The drink pairs Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry with lemonade in a 355 mL can, the same combination fans started mixing at home after Tennessee Blackberry launched last summer. It comes in at 4.8% ABV and 100 calories per can, and will be sold in four-packs with a suggested retail price of $11.99, in what the company is calling its first sleek white RTD can.

“When we launched Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry last summer, fans quickly fell in love with its signature cocktail of Tennessee Blackberry and refreshing lemonade,” said Mary Beth O’Mara, Jack Daniel’s RTD Brand Director, in a statement announcing the launch. “After seeing the response, we knew it was the cocktail that earned its can, and we’re excited to bring it to our friends in a format that makes it even easier to enjoy.”

TENNESSEE BLACKBERRY LONE EARNINGS BRIGHTSPOT

The can arrives at a moment when Tennessee Blackberry has become one of the few clear growth stories for Jack Daniel’s parent company, Brown-Forman. In the earnings call for its fiscal first quarter of 2027, reported earlier this month, Brown-Forman posted net sales of $911 million, down 1% from a year earlier, while operating income fell 3% to $252 million and diluted earnings per share rose 6% to 38 cents. Company officials said whiskey sales were essentially flat for the quarter, as continued growth from Tennessee Blackberry helped offset declines in Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey and Gentleman Jack.

Brown-Forman CEO Lawson Whiting pointed to Tennessee Blackberry, along with the company’s broader RTD lineup and its New Mix brand, as evidence that new products are helping cushion the business against softer demand in the U.S. and other developed markets.

“Innovation is creating meaningful growth opportunities across our portfolio,” Whiting told analysts on the call, adding that the U.S. business is improving, though slowly. Brown-Forman reaffirmed its full-year guidance for fiscal 2027 and said it expects Tennessee Blackberry’s international rollout to keep expanding.

For a company headquartered a short drive from the Jack Daniel’s Distillery here in Lynchburg, the new can is a small but visible sign of how much weight one flavor is carrying. Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Blackberry mixed with Lemonade begins rolling out to stores this month. •
