LOCAL NEWS | Events — Officials at Jack Daniel’s Distillery report that after much consideration and looking back at the last several year’s weather, they’ve decided to move the 2020 event from the fourth weekend in October to October 10 … or the second weekend in October.
Anyone who attended this year’s event, battled soggy conditions and torrential rains.
“We think moving the date up will make the entire event even more enjoyable for our competitors and the many folks from around the world who come to celebrate this amazing event,” the Distillery said in a press statement.
Next year’s event will be the 32nd annual Jack Daniel World Championship Invitational Barbecue. Organizers expect over 40,000 visitors as well as more than 100 teams representing all 50 states and countries across the globe. •
