LOCAL NEWS — Fall sports are nearly in the books and that means it’s time to turn our attention toward winter sports like basketball and wrestling. The Moore County Wrestling Club plans a Pre-Season Camp for Saturday, November 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Moore County High School. Lunch will be provided.
TSSAA three-time wrestling state champion Brandon Brunner will be on hand to teach techniques to all wrestlers. Brunner won the 2010 state championship in the 103 weight class while wrestling for Tullhoma High School. He won two additional state championships for Division II Baylor in Chattanooga in 2011 and 2012 before moving on to join the South Dakota State Wrestling Team in 2013.
The camp is open to all age boy and girl wrestlers and mandatory for those on Moore County’s Wrestling Team this year in grades seven through 12. The the camp is free but a $20 donation to the club is recommended. The doors will open at 8:15 a.m.
Wrestling practice will begin for grade 7-12 on October 18 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. All practices take place in the old MCHS Gym at the high school. Football players will join the team after their season completes but they will be required to attend the November 6 camp.
