LOCAL SPORTS NEWS — The Moore County Raiderettes managed a four run lead in the third inning on Tuesday and never looked back against Cascade. By the end of seven inning, Moore County mounted a 12-4 victory over the Champions.

Tuesday night’s win in Lynchburg was the Raiderettes second win over Cascade this season. Moore County also walked away with a 14-3 win in Cascade on March 22

In the third Anysten Metcalf grounded out, scoring two runs, Paisley Logan drew a walk, scoring one run, and Addison Pope induced Gracie Bailey to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

The Raiderettes totaled 12 hits in the game. Emilee Moorehead, Kendall Dangerfield, and Paisley Logan led for Moore County with two hits each. Anysten Metcalf also hit a homerun in the fourth inning. Logan also got the win – pitching seven innings allowing just four runs on seven hits and striking out four.

The District 8A win pulls Moore County even with Eagleville in the rankings with three district wins each. The varisty Raiderettes (7-4, 3-0) will play the Lady Eagles (6-3, 3-0) in Eagleville on Thursday. •
