HUNTLAND, Tenn. — The Raiderettes travelled in to rival territory on Tuesday and walked away with a 49-38 win over Huntland. The win gives the Moore County gals a 3-4 District 9A record and puts them in third place behind Richland and Cornersville.
Moore County jumped out to an early 15-12 lead in the first. Ally Sharpe led in the first with a trey and two baskets. Emma Dye added her own trey and a basket. Abbie Bateman swished two and Emmeree Greenway came off the bench early and scored one from the line. Moore County led by three at the end of the first eight minutes.
Huntland came to life in the second and outscored the Raiderettes by one. Riley Maxwell led for the Lady Hornets in the second. The Raiderettes managed six points — treys by Sharpe and Bateman. Moore County went into the locker room leading by two, 21-19.

Raiderettes hold Lady Hornets to two points in the third
The Raiderettes have been a second half team this season and that trend continued Tuesday. Moore County put 13 points while the defense held the Lady Hornets to just a single basket from Maxwell. Bella Tucker made her first points of the night — scoring four points. She led along with Bateman, who also added four points. Ellie Carter also got on the boards in the third — swishing a basket and one from the line. Paisley Kelly also swished her first basket. The big period allowed Moore County to build a more comfortable 13-point lead, 34-21.
That lead proved too much to overcome. Huntland attempted a comeback — outscoring the Raiderettes by two in the final stanza. Eight of those points came from the line with the other nine coming from the perimeter. Sharpe led in the final stanza with seven.
At the final buzzer, the Raiderettes walked away with a 49-38 win.
Ally Sharpe led the way with 17 points followed by Abbie Bateman, who had one of her best games of the season, and Emma Dye with nine points each. Bella Tucker added four points. Paisley Kelly, Ellie Carter, and Addison Brandon all contributed three points each. Emmeree Greenway swished one from the line.
The Raiderettes will get one more game in their regular season before heading into the District 9A Tournament. They’ll play their second game of the regular season against Franklin County in Winchester on Friday. The Raiderettes beat the Lady Rebels 43-37 on January 30. Tip off is at 6 p.m. •
