SANTA FE, Tenn. — Ally Sharpe picked up from where she left off last season as she dropped 24 on Santa Fe as the Raiderettes won their season opener in 76-17 blowout.

She was joined in the offensive explosion by Bella Tucker who single-handedly outscored Santa Fe, hooping for 18 on the night. Moore County sprinted to the win from the opening tip as they outscored their hosts 17-8 in the opening period. Tucker took the reins early as sizzled the cylinder with four field goals in the opening stanza while Sharpe had three of her own. Emma Dye drained a three to round out the first quarter scoring.

Things went from bad to worse for Santa Fe as the Raiderettes went off in the second, scoring 31 points. The scorer’s book could barely contain Sharpe’s stats in the second as she scored 15 points including a trifecta of threes and a trifecta of deuces. Tucker continued her consistent play, hooping three field goals while Harley Hart got on the board with four points. Lily Hogland drained a three while Paisley Kelly had a deuce and single as Moore County led 48-14 at the break.

The Raiderette defense came down even harder in the third period as they did not allow a single Santa Fe field goal as their host’s only points came by way of three free throws. Ellie Carter came to life in the third, scoring all seven of her points in the game by way of a three and a pair of shots from the floor. Harley Hart continued her good showing as she had a trifecta of deuces from the field while Sharpe splashed a three from long range. Bella Tucker had a hoop and hit a pair from the charity stripe while Dye had a field goal to give the Raiderettes a 70-17 lead going into the final period.

Offensively, things got as bad as they could get for the hosts as the put up a goose egg in their home gym in the final quarter. The Raiderettes took their foot off the gas with Emmeree Greenway, Abbie Bateman and Brenley Tucker accounting for a basket apiece. •
