The Moore County Raiders fell in a tight battle at Santa Fe on Monday, dropping a 40-37 decision in a game that came down to the final minutes.
The hosts clawed to an 8-7 advantage after one, with Deacon Liles getting most of the shine for the Raiders in the opening quarter as he scored his night’s total, depositing all five in the first. Colton Morey was the other Raider to score as he had a bucket on what proved to be the tip of the iceberg as he led his team in scoring with 18 on the night.

The Raiders were able to take a one-point lead by half as they outscored their hosts 8-6 in the second stanza. Anderson Sharpe bombed a three from downtown while Tristyn Gray and Morey both had buckets. Knox Hall was one-for-two from the stripe.
The teams finished tied at 24 after three as Morey started coming alive, hitting a triple and deuce while Sharpe buried his second 3-pointer of the evening. Gray was one-for-two from the charity stripe.
Santa Fe was able to do just enough to secure the three-point victory despite a huge quarter from Morey had a three and a trifecta of field goals. Gray was also a sharpshooter as he tickled the twine from downtown and hit a free throw. •
