LYNCHBURG, Tenn. — The Moore County Middle School Raiders kept the train rolling in their first game after the Thanksgiving break as they handled Huntland with ease 59-16 Thursday evening.

The Raiders completely shut down the Hornet offense in the first quarter as Huntland put up a goose egg while Moore County scored 22 points. Finn Carney was the leading contributor in the first period as he put up all eight of his night’s points, canning a pair of threes and a field goal. Laken Wade, who led all scorers with 14 on the night, hit a trifecta of buckets from the floor. Meanwhile Jojo Pettygrue, Grayson Hill, Brantly Chapin and Sawyer Boyce all marked the scorer’s book with two apiece in the opening frame.
