LOCAL SPORTS — Moore County High School senior pitcher Ryder Morey pitched a complete shut out game on Monday in Lynchburg to help earn the varsity Raiders a 2-0 win over district foe Eagleville. Mondays game was the first meet up for the Raiders (6-4, 4-1) against Eagles (5-5, 1-2).
Morey pitched a shutout and earned the win. He struck out nine and surrendered zero runs on four hits over seven innings. He walked one batter.
Kyler Parker led for Raiders batting 2-for-4 at the plate.
The win gives the Moore County boys a two game lead in district 8A standing with four district wins. Huntland sits in second place with a 2-2 district record and a 7-2-1 overall record. The loss moves Eagleville to fourth place with a single district win over Fayetteville on March 22. The Eagles will rematch with Moore County in Eagleville on Tuesday afternoon. •
