LOCAL SPORTS | Moore County will need to play smart defense and use all their offensives weapons to get a win over Huntland in tonight’s District 9A Championship Game.
The Raiders took it to the wire against Lincoln County — losing by just six points. Four Raiders scored double digit points including Alex Copeland, Will Harder, Will Baker, and Colton Bateman.
On Tuesday, the Raiders perked up in the second half against Cornersville to secure a 50-38 win and a number two seed in the upcoming district tournament. Alex Copeland led with 22 points.
The Raiders battled but lost by a narrow three points against Eagleville. They play at Cornersville on Tuesday.

Will Harder’s 22 points helped lift the Raiders to a 64-37 district home win over Cornersville on January 21 in Lynchburg. Moore County plays their district rivals, the Huntland Hornets, in Lynchburg on Friday.
Moore County snagged a 53-48 district road win against Eagleville on Tuesday. Will Baker led for Moore County with 14 points followed by Alex Copeland with 11.

Illness and injuries plagued the Raiders early this season but on Tuesday, all the pieces came together and the Raiders managed an impressive 43-33 over the Forrest Rockets – breaking a six game losing streak. Sophomore Dawson White led for the Raiders with 10 followed by fellow sophomore Alex Copeland with 9.
The Raiders fell to the Wildcats 63-60 in front of a nail-biting home crowd. Sophomore Alex Copeland led for Moore County with 22 points followed by senior Will Harder with 16 points.
